NetEase's latest major global release is the open-world Wuxia RPG Where Winds Meet, which launched globally on November 14, 2025.

Top-Up & Currency Restrictions

  • Platform Currency Lock (Crucial):

    • Premium Currency is NOT Shared: If you purchase Echo Beads on PlayStation 5, they will only be visible and usable when you are logged into the PS5. They will not show up if you log into the same account on PC. The same applies in reverse (PC purchases stay on PC).

    • Items are Shared: Once you spend the currency to buy an outfit, battle pass, or cosmetic item, that item is generally accessible across all platforms via Cross-Progression.
    • Model: It is a Free-to-Play title with gacha/cosmetic monetization, which is typical for NetEase but was a point of discussion during its development regarding balancing.

Option 1: Steam (PC) Top-Up Guide

This method uses your Steam Wallet balance.

Step 1: Add Funds to Steam (Optional but Recommended)

  1. Open Steam.

  2. Click your profile name in the top right corner > select View my Wallet.

  3. Click Add Funds and choose an amount (e.g., $10, $20).

  4. Complete the payment using your credit card, PayPal, or Steam Gift Card.

Step 2: Purchase in-game

  1. Launch Where Winds Meet.

  2. Open the Menu (Press Esc or the Menu icon).

  3. Navigate to Shop > Top Up tab.

  4. Select the Echo Beads pack you want to buy.

  5. The Steam Overlay will pop up asking for authorization.

  6. Click Authorize. The funds will be deducted from your Steam Wallet, and the beads will appear instantly.

Troubleshooting: If the Steam Overlay does not appear, ensure "Enable Steam Overlay while in-game" is checked in your Steam Settings > In-Game.

 

Option 2: PlayStation 5 Top-Up Guide

This method uses your PlayStation Network (PSN) Wallet.

Step 1: Add Funds to PSN Wallet

  1. On your PS5 Home Screen, go to Settings > Users and Accounts.

  2. Select Account > Payment and Subscriptions > Add Funds.

  3. Choose your method (Credit Card, PayPal, or Redeem Code for a PSN Gift Card).

  4. Add the required amount.

Step 2: Purchase in-game

  1. Launch Where Winds Meet on your PS5.

  2. Press the Options button on your controller to open the Menu.

  3. Navigate to the Shop icon (usually a bag or coin icon).

  4. Go to the Top Up tab (look for the "Echo Beads" icon).

  5. Select the pack you wish to purchase.

  6. The standard gray PlayStation Store checkout screen will slide up.

  7. Confirm the purchase. The beads will be added to your account immediately.
