The Anemo Traveler is the first character you play and your introduction to the Swirl element. While often replaced by Sucrose or Kazuha later, they offer unique utility at C6, shredding both Anemo and Elemental Resistance, making them a viable budget support for Xiao or Wanderer teams.

Talent Breakdown & Mechanics
Elemental Skill: Palm Vortex
- Tap vs Hold: Hold E creates a vacuum that pulls enemies and deals continuous Anemo DMG. At the end, it explodes.
- Absorption: If the vortex contacts Hydro/Pyro/Cryo/Electro, it deals additional Elemental damage.
- Vulnerability: You are stationary while holding E. Be careful not to get hit.
Elemental Burst: Gust Surge
- Cost: 60 Energy | Cooldown: 15s
- The Tornado: Summons a tornado that moves forward, pulling in small enemies.
- Mechanic Issue: The tornado moves away from you. This is bad for melee DPS. However, if it hits a large enemy (Boss/Lawachurl) or a wall, it stops moving and deals massive damage ticks in place.
- C6 Utility: At C6, targets damaged by Gust Surge have their Anemo RES reduced by 20%. If an element is absorbed, that element's RES is also reduced by 20%.
Passive: Slitting Wind
- Extra Hit: The last hit of a Normal Attack combo sends a wind blade. Useful for small chip damage or puzzles, but negligible in combat.
Talent Priority Order:
- Elemental Burst (Level 9) - Main utility and damage.
- Elemental Skill (Level 6) - Energy generation.

Verdict: C6 is the only reason to play Anemo Traveler in late game.

Why it works: Traveler triggers VV shred for Cryo. Against frozen enemies, the Tornado will not push them away (they are stuck), solving the main issue of the kit.
2. Anemo Battery/Shred

- Buffer: Bennett

Why it works: Before you get Faruzan C6, Anemo Traveler is a decent substitute. C6 shreds Anemo RES by 20%, increasing Xiao's damage.

Tip: Never hold E in combat unless you really need to group small slimes. The duration is too long and exposes you to damage.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is Anemo Traveler better than Sucrose?
No. Sucrose offers Elemental Mastery sharing, better grouping, and can hold TToDS. Anemo Traveler is only used if you don't have Sucrose/Kazuha or specifically need C6 Anemo Shred.
Should I level talents?
Only level the Burst if you want more damage. The Shred (VV) works regardless of talent levels.
